Appearance(Hair style, eye shape, skin tone, clothes, etc): Short hair, usually spiked up, though he always wished he could have long hair to hide behind, his family wouldn't accept it. His skin is quite pale since he rarely goes outside, and avoids the sun. He prefers to wear warm and comfortable sweaters and shirts to cover up his body as much as he can, since he's really insecure about himself in almost every aspect.
Personality: Extremely shy, quiet, and subdued. Has massive self-esteem issues and is completely unable to communicate properly with anyone as a result. While Kyoshi is extremely open minded, he is also extremely conservative, and can be scared, surprised, or just freaked out in general by even the smallest thing.
Brief History: Kyoshi grew up in a very wealthy family who paid absolutely no attention to him. As a result, he always felt extremely insecure and had difficulty making friends. He devoted most of his time to his studies instead, and is extremely book-smart as a result. Gradually he did make one friend, a girl (Akako) who introduced him to art and taught him how to paint in a traditional Japanese style, but when his parents (who he rarely even spoke to or saw) tried to force him into going to a private school outside of his hometown, he felt crushed. The girl who he was friends with argued with his parents (Kyoshi was extremely embarassed, but also very thankful) until they agreed to compromise by sending Kyoshi to a school made specifically for the arts- Kamikura. Kyoshi misses his old best friend dearly, and has a photo of them together in his wallet.

Other info: Kyoshi loathes anime and manga, he argues that anime and manga are one of the leading reasons that traditional Japanese art has gone out of style, and considers anime-fans to be superficial idiots. He also thinks that manga should not be considered a real art form. This is one of the few issues that he feels strongly and is rather close-minded about. Kyoshi prefers novels and traditional art over manga and anime art any day. In fact, he refuses to watch television at all.
